Justice and Management: the stakes for the transition to a modernized judicial is a 4 year lasting research project funded by the Belgian Science Policy Office (BELSPO) within the Funding Program : Belgian Research Action Through Interdisciplinary Networks (BRAIN-be). The project consists of an interdisciplinary partnership between the university of Liège (ULiège), the University of Antwerp (UA/research group Government and Law) and the National Institute of Forensic Science and Criminology (NICC).
Within the framework of the research contract BELSPO “Justice and Management” the Faculty of Law of the University of Antwerp is organizing a mini-conference on the theme : “What are the Expectations from the Public towards the Justice System?”
The key issue is : Can Justice be regarded as a public service that pays little attention to efficiency and management techniques? Before answering this question one has to deal with another question : what does the public expect of Justice and how can it be shaped?
